Perseverance in the Midst of Rejection

Presented by James Boyd

Life can be tough.  When the chips are down, it's time to dig deep and persevere.  Through successfully persevering through many trials and tribulations of his own, James reveals the surprising rewards perseverance can yield. And James knows what he is talking about!  Growing up in Chicago, he was discouraged to go to college by well meaning high school counselors.  He pushed past such advice, and began working to pay for college courses.  After receiving his draft letter from the draft board in 1969, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, remaining there for 21 years. During that time, he completed three college degrees, and rose from the enlisted ranks to the commissioned officer ranks. As a Navy Mustang, he learned the important lessons of leadership and perseverance which served as a guiding beacon as he accepted the calling into the ministry.  James has now served in ministry for over 27 years in several diverse offices including: street ministry, healthcare, prison, and nursing home ministry.  He has served as Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor, Co-founder and Director Emeritus of a local Bible College, and Founder and President of Seed of Faith Ministries in Virginia Beach.  He holds an MBA (Averett College), has studied for a Phd in Biblical Studies (Trinity College and Seminary) and has completed a Thd in Theology (Christian College and Seminary).  As a volunteer Chaplain for the Commonwealth of Virginia Correctional system during the past 10 years, James has guided men through the frustration of rejection, to help them persevere and reach their own personal second chance.   Let him encourage and help you reach your rainbow through the storm.

James is an ordained minister and Director of a local bible college. He has written hundreds of sermons, ministry training classes, and monthly prayer focus guidelines for a national prayer ministry. Now, in his “third career”, James intends to sharpen his writing skills to bless others, and to complete his childhood passion to write.
